Public Hearing: Zoning Map Amendment (ZMA) #20-01
Wintergreen – Rural Conservation (RC) to Commercial Village (CV) Rezoning Request
Notice is hereby given that the Charles County Commissioners will conduct a Virtual Public Hearing on June 8, 2021 at 6 p.m. to consider a requested amendment to the Charles County Zoning Map.
The Applicant, CG Acquisitions, LLC, is requesting a zoning change from Rural Conservation (RC) to Commercial Village (CV) for a 7.57 acre property located at 5405 Leonardtown Road in Waldorf, at the intersection of Leonardtown Road (MD Route 5) and Billingsley Road. The Subject Property is further identified as Parcel 255 within Grid 13 on Tax Map 25. This local map amendment request is based upon a mistake rationale, in accordance with Chapter §297-448 of the Charles County Zoning Ordinance, and Chapter §4-204 (b) of the Land Use Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference. Persons with questions or requests for more information regarding this hearing may call 301-645-0692. The hearing is open to the public and public testimony is encouraged.
To speak during the June 8, 2021 Public Hearing, residents must call 301-885-2779 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on June 8, 2021 to register. Once registered, residents will be called between 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on June 8, 2021 to testify. Each speaker will be allotted three (3) minutes. If a registered speaker is not available to speak when called, the County has the right to move onto the next caller.
Comments will be accepted May 21, 2021 starting at 8:00 a.m. through June 8, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. by using the e-comment feature at https://www.charlescountymd.gov/government/public-comments/zma-20-01-wintergreen-rural-conservation-rc-to-commercial-village-cv-rezoning-request or by calling 301-645-0652 to leave a message. Comments sent by mail must be received no later than June 8, 2021.
