DESCRIPTION:<p align="center"><b>Public Hearing: Zoning Map Amendment (ZMA) #20-01</b></p><p align="center"><b>Wintergreen – Rural Conservation (RC) to Commercial Village (CV) Rezoning Request</b><b style="text-align: left;">&nbsp;</b></p><p>Notice is hereby given that the Charles County Commissioners will conduct a Virtual Public Hearing on June 8, 2021 at 6 p.m. to consider a requested amendment to the Charles County Zoning Map.&nbsp;</p><p>The Applicant, CG Acquisitions, LLC, is requesting a zoning change from Rural Conservation (RC) to Commercial Village (CV) for a 7.57 acre property located at 5405 Leonardtown Road in Waldorf, at the intersection of Leonardtown Road (MD Route 5) and Billingsley Road.&nbsp; The Subject Property is further identified as Parcel 255 within Grid 13 on Tax Map 25.&nbsp; This local map amendment request is based upon a mistake rationale, in accordance with Chapter §297-448 of the Charles County Zoning Ordinance, and Chapter §4-204 (b) of the Land Use Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland.&nbsp;</p><p>The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference.&nbsp; Persons with questions or requests for more information regarding this hearing may call 301-645-0692.&nbsp; The hearing is open to the public and public testimony is encouraged.&nbsp;</p><p>To speak during the June 8, 2021 Public Hearing, residents must call 301-885-2779 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on June 8, 2021 to register.&nbsp; Once registered, residents will be called between 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on June 8, 2021 to testify.&nbsp; Each speaker will be allotted three (3) minutes.&nbsp; If a registered speaker is not available to speak when called, the County has the right to move onto the next caller.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>Comments will be accepted May 21, 2021 starting at 8:00 a.m. through June 8, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. by using the e-comment feature at <a href="https://www.charlescountymd.gov/government/public-comments/zma-20-01-wintergreen-rural-conservation-rc-to-commercial-village-cv-rezoning-request">https://www.charlescountymd.gov/government/public-comments/zma-20-01-wintergreen-rural-conservation-rc-to-commercial-village-cv-rezoning-request</a> or by calling 301-645-0652 to leave a message.&nbsp; In addition, residents may submit comments by mail to the following address: Commissioners of Charles County, 200 Baltimore Street, La Plata, MD 20646.&nbsp; Comments sent by mail must be received no later than June 8, 2021.&nbsp;</p><p>The associated documents for this item will be available for inspection in the Planning Division, Planning and Growth Management Department, Charles County Government Building, La Plata, Maryland or online at:&nbsp;</p><p><a href="http://go.boarddocs.com/md/chrlsco/Board.nsf/Public">http://go.boarddocs.com/md/chrlsco/Board.nsf/Public</a>.
