Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) #21-162, Veterinarians and Veterinary Hospitals in the CB Zone
The Charles County Commissioners will hold a Virtual Public Hearing on November 17, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., to consider a Zoning Text Amendment in accordance with Chapter 297-447 of the Charles County Zoning Ordinance. The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference.
Zoning Text Amendment, ZTA #21-162 (Bill # 2021-10) proposes to amend certain provisions of the Zoning Ordinance of Charles County to permit use code 5.02.400, Veterinarians and Veterinary Hospitals with conditions in the Central Business (CB) Zone. The application would amend Figure IV-1, Table of Permissible Uses and Article XIII Minimum Standards for Special Exceptions and Uses Permitted with Conditions of the Charles County Zoning Ordinance.

To register to speak during the public hearing, residents must call 301-885-2779 on November 17, 2021, between 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. At that time, registered speakers will be provided information on how to join the virtual public hearing. Speakers are asked to be available between 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. on November 17, 2021. Each speaker will be allotted three (3) minutes. If a registered speaker is unavailable, the County has the right to move on to the next speaker. Comments will be accepted October 29, 2021 at 8 a.m. through November 17, 2021 at 4 p.m. by using the e-comment feature at: : https://www.charlescountymd.gov/government/public-comments/zta-21-162-bill-2021-10/ or by calling 301-645-0652 to leave a message. In addition, residents may submit comments by mail to the following address: Charles County Commissioners, 200 Baltimore Street, La Plata, MD 20646. Comments sent by mail must be received no later than Nov. 17, 2021.
