Public Hearing: Amendment to Developer Rights and Responsibility Agreement (DRRA)
Heritage Green
Notice is hereby given that the Charles County Commissioners will conduct a Virtual Public Hearing on October 20, 2021, at 6 p.m. to consider proposed amendments to the Developer Rights and Responsibility Agreement (DRRA) for the residential subdivision in the Town of La Plata known as Heritage Green.
The Public Hearing is being held pursuant to the Maryland Annotated Code, Land Use Article (LU) §7-305. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to amend the language in the Heritage Green DRRA, recorded among the Land Records for Charles County at Liber 8710, folio 339 to address and update the impact of the development on traffic intersections and issuance of school allocation since the original DRRA was approved in 2008.
The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference. Persons with questions or requests for more information regarding this hearing may call 301-645-0555. The hearing is open to the public and public testimony is encouraged.
To speak during the October 20, 2021, Public Hearing, residents must call 301-885-2779 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on October 20, 2021, to register. Once registered, residents will be called between 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on October 20, 2021, to testify. Each speaker will be allotted three (3) minutes. If a registered speaker is not available to speak when called, the County has the right to move onto the next caller.
Comments will be accepted October 1, 2021, starting at 8:00 a.m. through October 20, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. by using the e-comment feature at https://www.charlescountymd.gov/government/public-comments/amended-and-restated-heritage-green-drra/ or by calling 301-645-0652 to leave a message. In addition, residents may submit comments by mail to the following address: Commissioners of Charles County, 200 Baltimore Street, La Plata, MD 20646. Comments sent by mail must be received no later than February 2, 2021.
