Zoning Map Amendment
ZMA #20-03
The Charles County Commissioners will hold a Virtual Public Hearing on September 22, 2021 at 6:00 p.m., to consider a Zoning Map Amendment. Zoning Map Amendment (ZMA) #20-03 is a request to rezone approximately 8.19 acres of land from the current split zoning designation of Watershed Conservation District (WCD) and Core Retail Residential (CRR) to Central Business (CB), in accordance with Chapter 297-448 of the Zoning Ordinance. The subject property is located between MD 210 (Indian Head Highway) and Hungerford Road in Bryans Road, Maryland.
The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference. Persons with questions or requests for more information regarding this hearing may call 301-645-0692. The hearing is open to the public and public testimony is encouraged.
To speak during the September 22, 2021 Public Hearing, residents must call 301-885-2779 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on September 22, 2021 to register. Once registered, residents will be called between 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on September 22, 2021 to testify. Each speaker will be allotted three (3) minutes. If a registered speaker is not available to speak when called, the County has the right to move onto the next caller.
Written comments may be submitted in lieu of oral testimony, or to expand upon oral testimony. Written comments will be accepted until the Commissioners close the public record by using the e-comment feature at https://www.charlescountymd.gov/government/public-comments/hungerford-zma/ or by calling 301-645-0652 to leave a message. The County Commissioners reserve the right to extend the time frame allotted for the hearing. ZMA #20- 03 may be viewed in the Office of the Clerk, or on the Commissioners’ BoardDocs website at https://go.boarddocs.com/md/chrlsco/Board.nsf/Public.
