PUBLIC NOTICE
Public Hearing: ZTA #20-156, Agricultural Related Uses
Notice is hereby given that the Charles County Commissioners will conduct a Public Hearing on February 2, 2021 at 6 p.m. to consider proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 297 of the Code of Charles County, Maryland.
ZTA #20-156 amends the following provisions to support agricultural-related uses in the County: (1) definitions; (2) uses and associated conditions; (3) table of permissible uses; (4) table of off-street parking requirements; (5) general yard requirements; (6) accessory uses and structures; and (7) temporary uses.
The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference. Persons with questions or requests for more information regarding this hearing may call 301-645-0692. The hearing is open to the public and public testimony is encouraged.
To speak during the February 2, 2021 Public Hearing, residents must call 301-885-2779 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on February 2, 2021 to register. Once registered, residents will be called between 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on February 2, 2021 to testify. Each speaker will be allotted three (3) minutes. If a registered speaker is not available to speak when called, the County has the right to move onto the next caller.
Comments will be accepted January 15, 2021 starting at 8:00 a.m. through February 2, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. by using the e-comment feature at https://www.charlescountymd.gov/government/public-comments/zta-20-156/ or by calling 301-645-0652 to leave a message. In addition, residents may submit comments by mail to the following address: Commissioners of Charles County, 200 Baltimore Street, La Plata, MD 20646. Comments sent by mail must be received no later than February 2, 2021.
