PUBLIC NOTICE
Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) #23-176 and Zoning Map Amendment (ZMA) #23-02, Aviation Business Park
Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of Charles County, Maryland will conduct a Public Hearing on August 5, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the proposed Aviation Business Park Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) #23-176 and Zoning Map Amendment (ZMA) #23-02. The discussion will take place in the Government Building Conference Room (Blue Room) and via video teleconference. The public is welcome to attend and encouraged to participate in the hearing.
ZMA #23-02 and ZTA #23-176 are meant to promote economic development and permit development that is compatible with the Maryland Airport. Certain provisions of the Charles County Zoning Ordinance would be amended by ZTA #23-176, creating the Aviation Business Park (ABP) Zone as a new base zoning district. The Charles County Zoning Maps would be modified by ZMA #23-02 to rezone some properties near the airport to the new ABP Zone, with some properties along Ray Drive rezoned to Light Industrial (IG). On July 19, 2024, the zoning amendments will be accessible at www.CharlesCountyMD.gov/Meetings.
Limited in-person seating will be available; however, the hearing can be viewed online at: https://charlescountymd.info/CCGtv, or by calling 301-645-0500. The public can also watch via CCGTV on cable access channels, Comcast: 95 and Verizon FIOS: 10.
Public testimony can be provided virtually or in person. Three (3) minutes will be allocated to each speaker. The County reserves the right to move onto the next caller if a registered speaker is not available when called.
