Charles County Municipal Stormwater Restoration Plan
Plan to Achieve Stormwater Waste Load Allocations
Notice is hereby given that the Charles County Department of Planning and Growth Management will brief the Charles County Planning Commission on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. on the draft update to the Charles County Municipal Stormwater Restoration Plan, previously dated 2017. This public meeting will be held in the Government Building Conference Room (“Blue Room”) and via video teleconference. The purpose of the briefing is to facilitate the 30-day public comment period required by the County’s Stormwater Discharge Permit; therefore, the Planning Commission will not be acting on this item.
The updated Restoration Plan addresses approved Charles County Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) with stormwater waste load allocations and is being updated to incorporate TMDLs approved since the prior plan, reflect new calculation methods by the Chesapeake Bay Program and Maryland Department of Environment, and make programmatic adjustments per the County’s current progress and plans.
Limited in-person seating will be provided. The draft updated Restoration Plan will be available on September 29, 2023, at www.CharlesCountyMD.gov/Meetings. There will be a 30-day public comment period following the meeting, which will end on November 2, 2023.
Citizens wishing to make written comments are encouraged to listen to the public meeting and/or review the plan online.
