DESCRIPTION:<p>Charles County Government, in collaboration with the Economic Development Department, has contracted Griffin &amp; Strong, P.C. to conduct a Comprehensive Disparity Study, to evaluate and make recommendations for procurement policies and practices. In addition, the Study will independently assess equitable participation of Minority Business Enterprise businesses.</p><p>A Disparity Study is an objective research tool whose findings of discrimination are a prerequisite to any race or gender-based remedial program. Griffin &amp; Strong, a law and public policy consulting firm based in Atlanta, Georgia, is a nationally recognized expert in disparity research.&nbsp; Public participation in the Study is critical to the accuracy of the Study’s findings and recommendations, which will result in policy recommendations for Charles County.</p><p>Griffin &amp; Strong, P.C. will kick off the Study by hosting a Virtual Public Information Meeting on Thursday, Sept. 17. This online session will allow the community to ask questions, learn about the study process, and discuss how they can participate.
